Back Roads of Oahu
Use all five senses to experience many of the things that make Hawaii one of a kind. Get off the beaten path on the interactive and educational Back Roads of Oahu tour. This unique journey through time blends culture, history and agriculture. The journey begins with native Hawaii living to Hawaii's plantation days of yesteryear through the farming culture of today. See Hawaii's largest producing watercress farm; then, sample the malasada, a Portuguese donut, before heading to Oahu's northern side. Next, visit Helemano Plantation where you will walk through its garden filled with coffee beans, oranges and grapefruits. Sample fresh cut pineapples during a pineapple cutting demonstration. Next head to Sunset Beach, a favorite local hangout. Visit Kahuku Farms, an exclusive destination for Roberts Hawaii, and learn local farming history. Taste old papayas and apple bananas grown right there on Kahuku farms. Here is where a catered lunch will be served featuring ingredients grown from the farm. Later, you will board the bus to reach Tropical Farms in Waikane where you can sample the wide variety of seasoned macadamia nuts prepared here daily. Drive by Sumida Watercress Farm.
