West Maui Half Day Waterfalls and Rainforest Hike

For those staying on Maui's west side (Lahaina, Napili, Kahana,  Ka`anapali, Honokowai, Kapalua), discover the wild, remote side of West Maui.  View amazing rock formations and craggy sea cliffs as we drive to our location.  Hike 2.5 miles (roundtrip)  into an isolated rainforest along a beautiful stream. On this moderate hike, follow the stream to ancient stone-walled agricultural terraces. Walk through a peaceful bamboo forest. Swim in pools under the falls and shower under a 20 ft waterfall. See breathtaking triple cascading, 20 ft, 30 ft and 40 ft waterfalls from a lookout point. We circumnavigate the West Maui Mountains on the drive back.

Kahului Park & Ride:  (Highway 380 / Highway 350) Dairy Road & Pu`unene Avenue

Directions From Kihei-Wailea-Makena side:North on Pi’ilani Highway (Highway 31).  Turn rt onto Mokulele Highway (Highway 311) toward Kahului.   Follow Mokulele Highway for 10-12 minutes.  Turn left onto Highway 380. (There is a large blue-gray church on your rt.)  Go 200 yds and turn rt into a commuter parking lot.  There is a small parking sign with green letters that says “Park & Ride."  Look for a green Hike Maui van.

Directions From Lahaina side:  South on Highway 30.  Turn rt at Highway 380.  Go 5 on Highway 380.    Look on the left side for Park & Ride - Make a left turn into the parking lot.  If you get to the traffic light with large gray/blue church on rt, you have gone 100 yds too far.  Look for a green Hike Maui van.
