Named the Number One Captain in 1997, Captain Dan Shaffer is the owner/operator Coast Guard licensed Captain of the Desperado. He has over 27 years experience in Hawaii. He has been successfully hunting Hawaii's waters for the biggest and best Marlin, Mahi Mahi, Ono, Tuna , and the list goes on... They hold state records such as catching 8 out of the 11 record Marlin in Maui county,catching 58 Marlin in one month, bringing in 16 Ahi averaging 150 lbs in one charter!
"Desperado" houses the top of the line Gold Penn International rods and reels. Using lures, live bait, strip, chunk and chum, we bring in the biggest and the best. The Desperado has custom built fish boxes and plenty of room for coolers and ice. The shaded cabin offers plenty of room to sit or stretch out with a clean comfortable head below. We provide the ice and cooler space so be sure to bring your favorite drinks and snacks. Alcohol is permitted but not provided.
Kaanapali Sportfishing offers Private Charters or Share Boat Charters for half day, 3/4 day or full day excursions. We recommend a full day for big game to ensure enough deep water time. Maximum of 6 passenger. Everyone Fishes!
