Ulalena Maui Theatre
ULALENA is an artistic tribute to Hawaii's unique cultures and traditions. This 9.5 million dollar production is singular in Hawaii and perhaps the world. The 75 minute show features over twenty professional performers from Hawaii. Ulalena is an amazing theatrical experience created especially for the Maui Theatre.
The audience will experience a magical journey into Hawaiian mythical history through selected images, dance, music, humor, song and acrobatics. "ULALENA", a wind unique to Maui, will carry you to the heart of the cherished legends and myths of Hawaii, touching the spirit of all. There is a wind unique to Maui that rises at twilight. This wind whispers of other times & places, both mythic and real. It blows between day & night, between times & worlds. It is cleansing & hopeful. The ancient Hawaiian name for this wind is “'Ulalena.” Ulalena is also the name of the newest and most spectacular stage production to come from Hawaii in decades.
Each seat maintains a sense of intimacy and interaction with the performance. Traditional Butoh theatre is combined with acrobatic feats of beauty and strength. Hula is blended with modern dance. Rich costumes, stage design and lighting are woven together into a filagree of fantastic images drawn from Hawaiian history and legend. The viewer is pulled out of time and into a place of wonder, experiencing with awe the spirit-filled landscape of the imagination of the ancient Hawaiian story tellers.
The power of Ulalena is that it is both universal and intimate. Born from a mythology populated by beings larger than life representing a natural landscape alive with oceans, volcanoes, and primeval rain forests, the story begins with the mythic creation of the islands and rolls through successive waves of voyagers who have found their way to these shores. From the first Polynesians to Captain Cook, and to us.
Maui Theatre presents a theatrical experience as impressive as the story. This is not just a theatre. Maui Theatre is a multi-million dollar, state-of-the-art venue built for Ulalena. It employs the talents of some of Hawaii's most distinguished performers and musicians. It combines live traditional Hawaiian music with 8-channel surround sound.
Standard Seating - All seats in the Maui Theatre are unobstructed and provide great views of the show. This value package is for perimeter seating throughout the Theatre.
Premium Seating - The Premium Seating Package provides select seats throughout the center of the Maui Theatre for a premium view of the stage.
VIP Seating - VIP Seating, one beverage and an after show experience with Ulalena cast and crew.

Choice of one selection house wine, draft beer or soft drink (unlimited refills on soft drink). Vegetarian menu available upon advance request. CHILD MENU-chicken tenders with mashed potatoes, mini burger with fries, or macaroni and cheese. CHILD UPGRADED-choice of Mini Ruth's Famous Filet, Island Fresh Fish, Stuffed Chicken Breast or Baked Ziti & Cheese. Children's menu selections include ice cream and a soft drink.
Hard Rock Cafe Dinner Package - MENU- ceasar or house salad, choice of steak, chicken or vegetarian meal for the entree and for dessert chocolate mousse, strawberry cheesecake, crème brulee or chocolate peanut butter pie. Choice of one selection house wine, soft drink, coffee or tea. CHILD MENU-Cheeseburger with fries, macaroni and cheese with garlic toast, hot dog with fries, chicken tenders with fries, BBQ chicken with fries, pasta with red sauce or oven roast chicken salad. Lahaina Grill Dinner Package - MENU- Lahaina Grill Sampler Platter (Kona lobster-crab cake, sweet rock shrimp cake and kalua duck quesadilla. Choice of Steak Jolene, Sautéed Mahi Mahi or Oven Roast Chicken Breast for the entree and for dessert Triple Berry Pie or Hawaiian Vintage Chocolate Decadence. Choice of one selection house wine, house beer, soft drink, coffee or tea. CHILD MENU- Cheeseburger with fries, Mahi and Shrimp with rice and veggies, fried chicken strips with fries, pasta with butter & cheese or marinara & cheese, or corn dog with fries. Lahaina Fish Company Dinner Package - MENU- farmers salad, choice of traditional Hawaiian Feast, Mac Nut Crusted Mahi Mahi, Slow Roasted Prime Rib Au Jus, Teriyaki Chicken or Penne Primavera for the entree and for dessert Hawaiian Sorbet trio. Choice of one selection soft drink iced tea or coffee. CHILD MENU-Macaroni & Cheese with toast, Island Fish & Chips (Mahi Mahi), Mini burgers with fries (comes with 2) or Chicken Stix with fries.
