Horseback Riding with Cowboys of HawaiiCome Morning or Afternoon for a 2 hour ride through famous Parker Ranch where Hawaiian Horseback riding began. In the evening you can experience Waimea's glorious sunset on a 1 1/2 - 2 hour horseback ride. The ride starts at the Blacksmiths Shop, going on to the breaking Pen, through rolling hills to the Stone Corrals. This is where as many as 5000 head of Hereford cattle were held after being driven down from the slopes of Mauna Kea. From there we move on to more historical sites, such as the Red Track where famous Parker Ranch Thoroughbreds were trained and still hold World records for speed. Long pants, covered shoes and a jacket are recommended. For those who choose not to ride and are waiting for others there are various activities such as Historical Homes Tours, Wagon Rides, Visitors Center and Museum at the Parker Ranch Shopping Center.
