Kilauea Volcano Adventure Hawaii Forest and Trail
On the Kilauea Volcano Adventure you will see a splendid native rainforest, discover remarkable volcanic formations, visit a lava tube, and experience a diverse change in climate and geography. Through detailed geologic and natural history interpretation, small walks, and driving, you will learn about the world’s most active volcano. Depending on the current volcanic activity, you’ll make a trip down the Chain of Craters road in the park or leave the park early to head down to Kalapana, searching for some current lava flow.
There is not a better place on earth to witness and understand the awesome nature of volcanoes than at Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. The geologic creation of the Hawaiian island chain, a timeless battle between the elemental forces of water and fire is one of the world’s greatest natural history stories. There is no better way to explore the park than in the company of one of our Interpretive Naturalists. We will show you the “must see” places in the Park while you learn about their geological and historic significance.
